Great news for Aussy gamers as Valve push again at the dinosaurs on the Australian Classification Board for approval of Left 4 Dead 2!

Gabe Newelle CEO of Valve announced that the game has been changed (dummed down) to be allowed classification in Australia. The most prominent feature predicted to be removed is the decapitation abilities allowing players to carve off the head of a blood seeking zombie.

Valve & EA have appealed the original classification and an announcement is set for October 22!

MF, yer its kinda a loophole people can slip into, though due to the scale of this game i presume its going into shops therefore needs clasification

It's only games that entirely consist of online play, no singleplayer (i.e.: controllable by the AI) gameplay that are exempt from classification. I think even that has been changed know too (remember that hoo-ha with WoW and that NSW crap about it being pulled from shelves?)

I didn't think games that were purchasable and downloadable through online needed classification.

The beheading wasn't the only problem though from what I remember.

beheading, disemboweling, dismembering of limbs, all that. I know you get all that in L4D one but apparently the introduction of Melee weapons tipped it over the edge.
